Now, let’s see what makes chicken jerky strips different from other dehydrated dog treats, why it is perfectly safe to feed your pet these goodies, and, perhaps, learn how to prepare them at home!
What are Dehydrated Chicken Jerky Strips ?
American non-rendered Real Jerky Boneless dog treats are made by choosing the best portions of well-nourished chickens, slicing it thinly, and then dehydrating it to remove the moisture but retain the nutritive value of the meat. The outcome is an appealing and moist-finished texture that tastes too good for dogs to resist. Compared to those snacks that are processed to a high degree these treats contain all the nutritional value of chicken.
If made properly, they are most often even a one-item product. This simple ingredient means few allergens making them ideal for any dog with special dietary needs.

Dehydrated chicken jerky strips recipe
Recipe: 2
I have told you before but you only need a few ingredients and this recipe is super easy! Jerky can be made with only one ingredient, poultry, but it is also easy to play around with to create a few different flavours using dog friendly herbs and spices. In this recipe I’ve flavoured the chicken with 3 different herbs and spice, turmeric, dried parsley and ground ginger.
Ingredients:
- Chicken breast, in stir fry of either 500g or 2.2lbs (I buy pre chopped, pre sliced chicken breast so I don’t have to do it!)
- Turmeric
- Dried parsley
- Ground ginger
Instructions:
- Rinse chicken breasts, trim if there is obvious fat adhered to the breast.
- If you want to avoid dealing with raw meat, buy chicken breasts (already sliced into strips, duh) or slice chicken breasts into 4cm width strips.
- Whether for leftovers or fresh batch, sprinkle a pinch of turmeric over a third of the strips, a pinch of dried parsley over a third of the strips, and a pinch of ground ginger over the remaining second of strips. Herbs and spices should be rubbed into the chicken strips with your finger
- Instead of that, arrange chicken strips on the dehydrator trays.
- Put the dehydrator to 70 degrees
- Dehydrate nearly for approx. 10 hours. Make sure your chicken strips are really crisp. They’ll sitchy if you’re leaving then in the dehydrator until they’re firm.
Grain-Free and Preservative-Free: Why It Matters
Grains, and especially preservatives, are widely used in many dog treats on the market in order to bring down the price.. But they can cause allergies, digestive problems and even chronic illness. You’ll know you’re choosing good grain free and preservative free treats when these will protect your dog’s long term health.
High-Protein Snacks: The Key to Your Dog’s Health
Protein is the cornerstone of canine nutrition. It helps:
- Maintain strong muscles.
- Support growth in puppies.
- Boost energy levels in active dogs.
You’re offering your dog a protein heavy snack, which gives their body fuel and keeps them content.
Conclusion
Dehydrated chicken jerky strips are more than a snack—they’re safe, nutritious and a fun way to show your pet some love. Regardless, your pup is going to wag their tails and bark happily when you feed them store bought, natural ingredients or when you try your hand at making jerky yourself.
